Types of shooting insurance

If you’re considering a shooting insurance policy through Insure4Sport, you have three options to choose from:

Shooting insurance: Specialist insurance for individuals shooting – including clay pigeon and game shooting insurance. It includes Personal Accident, Third-Party Liability and Shooting Equipment cover.

Shooting team insurance: If you shoot as part of a team or syndicate, this cover option can allow each member to have the same level of cover as with a shooting insurance policy.

Shooting instructor insurance: Tailored cover for shooting instructors. It can include all the options available with a shooting insurance policy, but can also include Professional Indemnity and Employers’ Liability cover.

What does shooting insurance cover?

Shooting insurance can help to provide financial protection and peace of mind when out shooting or instructing others.

Specialist insurance – whether clay pigeon, stalking or game shooting insurance – through Insure4Sport can help cover some or all of the costs if:

  • You suffer a serious injury when out shooting
  • You accidentally injury a third party or damage their equipment while shooting
  • Any of your shooting equipment - including your gun - is accidentally damaged, lost or stolen

With a shooting instructor policy through Insure4Sport, you'll also have cover for some or all of the costs if:

  • Someone you're coaching gets hurt when shooting under your instruction and makes a compensation claim against you
  • You hurt yourself and can't work as a shooting instructor for a period of time

Shooting insurance FAQs
  • You can add worldwide cover as an optional extra on the policy. It can provide the same level of cover for shooting abroad as in the UK and will cover you for up to 90 days a year.

  • Equipment covered in your insurance policy can include equipment directly used for shooting, such as your gun.

  • It isn't a legal requirement to have shooting insurance in place. But most clubs and shooting grounds require you to have proof of Public Liability insurance before you go on a shoot.

  • The cost of your shooting insurance policy through Insure4Sport depends on a range of factors, including the type of insurance you choose and the level of cover you opt for. The cost of the shooting equipment you want to insure will also be a consideration. The easiest way to find out how much your premium could potentially cost is to get a quick online quote today.
