When you take out a policy through Insure4Sport, there are several options available, regardless of what sport(s) you play, coach, or instruct.
Take a look at each of the cover options below to get an understanding of what each one entails and why you might consider needing it.
That way, when you come to get a quote, you can simply choose what you need and what you don’t.
Public Liability
Public Liability cover can help provide financial protection for your legal liability to third parties, should you be deemed responsible for an injury to another person or damage to their property while you’re playing, coaching or instructing your covered sport(s).
You can choose your own level of Public Liability cover up to £10m through Insure4Sport, depending on your individual needs.
Professional Indemnity
Professional Indemnity cover can help financially protect your legal liability to third parties if you are deemed to have given negligent advice which subsequently causes an injury to another person or damage to property.
This cover is included up to £1.5m as standard through Insure4Sport, provided you’ve also selected Public Liability when taking out your policy.
Participant to Participant Liability
If you’re a sports coach or instructor, Participant to Participant Liability could help provide financial cover if one of your participants/players injures another participant/player during a sport where tackles, scrums, mauls, or throws are permitted (e.g. football or MMA).
Personal Accident
Personal Accident cover (sometimes also referred to as Sports Accident Insurance) could help protect you financially should an accident occur while you’re playing, coaching, or instructing.
Through Insure4Sport, you can also get Accidental Death and Permanent Disablement cover up to £50,000 and Physiotherapy cover up to £500. This cover can also extend to broken bones for coaches, teams, and individuals.
You can also get Hospitalisation Compensation as part of your Personal Accident Cover, if you are admitted as an in-patient for more than 24 hours (up to £30 for a maximum of 25 days).
Loss of Earnings
Loss of Earnings cover helps to provide financial protection if you’re unable to work and earn an income due to an injury sustained while playing, coaching, or instructing your sport(s). This cover is available up to £750 per week for up to 52 weeks, and a 14-day excess applies. Please note this type of cover can only be incepted if Personal Accident cover is chosen.
Equipment Cover
Sports Equipment insurance can help cover your sports equipment against theft, loss, and damage.
Through Insure4Sport, sports equipment less than a year old could be covered on a New for Old basis, subject to satisfactory proof of ownership. Any items older than one year could be replaced on their indemnity value at the time of the theft, loss, or damage.
Sports Equipment cover through Insure4Sport comes with a maximum single item limit of £2,500. The first £250 worth of equipment is also covered for free when you take out a policy.
Employers' Liability
Employers’ Liability cover is a legal requirement if you run a business that employs members of staff. Operating a business without having this cover in place could result in hefty fines.
If you run a business, Employers’ Liability cover can help provide financial protection if a member of your staff makes a negligence claim against you for an accident, illness, or injury sustained while working for you.
Worldwide Cover
Provided you are a full-time UK resident, you can get Worldwide Cover through Insure4Sport to play, coach, or instruct your sport anywhere in the world (including the USA and Canada) for up to 180 days a year.
