Sports Travel Insurance
Specialist sports holiday insurance coming soon to Insure4Sport
If you’re planning to travel abroad for competitions or events, you may want to consider getting specialist sports travel insurance to help provide financial protection.
Sports travel insurance policies typically include cover for medical expenses, holiday cancellation, and your sports equipment while you take part in your sport abroad.
Note: Sports travel insurance is not currently provided by Insure4Sport, but it is coming soon. A standard Insure4Sport sports insurance policy can cover you abroad for public liability and theft and damage to your equipment, but it will not provide cover for medical expenses or other covers which are usually provided with travel insurance. It does not offer a replacement for travel insurance.

Do I need sports holiday insurance?
- While having sports holiday insurance is not a legal requirement, you may want to consider getting specialist sports holiday insurance in addition to your travel insurance policy for several reasons, such as:
- Higher-risk sports such as skiing, snowboarding, skydiving, or white-water rafting may not be covered under a standard travel insurance policy
- Specialist sports holiday insurance policies can include cover for emergency evacuation or search and rescue costs
- You can get specialist cover for your sports gear that often comes with higher single-item limits than what you may have with a standard travel insurance policy
- If you enter competitions but can’t compete due to injury, specialist sports holiday insurance often includes cover for the cost of race or event fee.
