Specialist sports coach insurance for a range of sports
Specialist sports coaching insurance through Insure4Sport is designed to protect you against the risks that come with being a coach. Whether it’s a liability claim for injury or damage, the theft of your equipment, or loss of earnings after suffering an injury while coaching or participating in your sport, which puts you out of action, sports coach insurance can help.
Not only can your wellbeing and professional reputation be at risk if you don’t have the right cover, but most gyms and sports centres require proof of insurance before letting you use their facilities. Plus, sports association membership insurance policies may only offer limited cover.
Whatever you coach – be it football, yoga, or cheerleading – having specialist sports coach insurance in place can help provide financial protection and peace of mind should something go wrong.

Why consider sports coach insurance?
There are several reasons why you may want to consider sports coach insurance. Firstly, Employers’ Liability insurance is a minimum legal requirement if you employ staff, such as other coaches.
Even with careful planning and preparation, things can go wrong when coaching teams, players, or participants. That’s why coaches may want to consider public liability and personal accident insurance to protect themselves against unexpected events.
It’s not just you that sports coach insurance can protect, either. You probably rely on a range of valuable equipment to help clients and teams achieve their goals, and if anything were to happen to this equipment, you could be left out of pocket and unable to work. That is, unless you have sports equipment insurance, which can protect your coaching gear against theft, loss, and damage.

Several factors could affect the cost of a sports coach insurance policy through Insure4Sport, such as the level and type of cover you want. Getting a quick online quote is the fastest way to find out the cost of your policy.
-
Sports coaches are not legally required to have insurance, whether they teach online or in person, unless you employ staff. In this case, you’re legally required to have Employers’ Liability insurance as a minimum.
However, you may want to consider getting insurance as an online coach to protect you should you suffer an injury and become unable to work, or if a client were to make a claim against you for suffering an injury under your instruction.
-
Professional indemnity insurance for sports coaches can help cover some or all of the costs if a client were to make a claim against you for an injury they suffered while following your coaching advice.
