Types of skydiving insurance
Skydiving insurance: best suited to individuals looking for parachute insurance providing cover for equipment, personal accident, and public liability.
Skydiving instructor insurance: suitable for instructors with accreditation from an appropriate governing body, such as British Skydiving. This policy can include all options available with an individual policy, plus additional types of cover options such as Professional Indemnity or Employers’ Liability.
Skydiving team insurance: this option is suitable for a group of people looking to insure a group of people for parachute jumping, ensuring they all have the same level of cover should something go wrong.
What does skydiving insurance cover?
Skydiving insurance
- Public Liability – up to £10m for accidental bodily injury to a third party (and damages in respect of such) and accidental damage to third-party property
- Personal Accident – covers accidental injury or death, dental treatment, and more following a skydiving accident
- Loss of earnings – up to £750 per week for up to 52 weeks. An excess of 14 days applies
- Theft, loss and damage to skydiving equipment up to £50k
- Hospitalisation compensation – if you are admitted as an in-patient for more than 24 hours
- Worldwide cover
- Any claims not arising from skydiving-based activities
- Any liability for damage to property belonging to you or in your care (excluding premises and other property you temporarily occupy for skydiving activities)
- Loss or theft of any skydiving equipment left unattended unless there is evidence of forced entry and/or exit to or from any premises, changing room, or any securely locked locker or similar places of storage
- Any claims for skydiving equipment without evidence of ownership
- Theft, loss or damage to mobile phones

Specialist skydive insurance helps you to focus on the thrill of skydiving, knowing you have financial protection against some of the risks.
For example, skydiving participant insurance through Insure4Sport can provide cover if you were to injure yourself or another skydiver. If you were unable to work due to your skydiving related injury, it can provide up to £750 per week for 52 weeks, with a 14-day excess.

Yes, equipment cover is included in skydiving insurance through Insure4Sport where cover is chosen. This cover can replace your equipment on a ‘New for Old’ basis if they have been stolen, lost or damaged and are less than a year old, and subject to satisfactory proof of ownership. If your item is older than one year it would be replaced on the indemnity value at the time of loss or damage.

Yes, indoor skydiving can be covered under skydiving insurance through Insure4Sport. The policy options available for individual, team and instructor skydiving insurance are the same for both outdoor and indoor skydiving.

An individual policy can cover you for a tandem jump with a skydiving instructor. However, the instructor should also consider their own specialist skydiving insurance for skydiving instructors.

Please note, this is separate to a regular travel insurance policy which covers you for things such as, trip cancellations or lost baggage – this would need to be purchased separately.
