Making a claim
If you wish to make a claim under your insurance policy, please notify the claims team of any incident or loss as soon as reasonably practicable.
Please ensure that you read through all claims conditions which are detailed within your Insurance Booklet.
- Do not negotiate, admit or repudiate any liability without the consent of the underwriters.
- Take all reasonable precautions to minimise the impact of the cause of your claim.
- Pass every letter claim writ summons to the claims team immediately upon receipt.
- You must tell the Police immediately and obtain a crime reference number regarding property that has been lost, stolen or maliciously damaged and within 24 hours of discovery.
- Obtain all proofs and information in relation to the claim that will reasonably be required together with (if required) a statutory declaration of the truth of the claim and any connected matters.
Claims under certain sections of your policy may be subject to an excess. This means that you will be responsible for paying part of the claim, or a specified amount of time will be deducted from the claim settlement calculation. Therefore, before making a claim, please review your Insurance Schedule for details of any excess. Please do not submit a claim where you know the total cost of the claim will fall within the excess amount you would have to pay. Please also refer to your Insurance Booklet/Schedule for details of any single article limits which will apply to equipment claims.
