Who underwrites the insurance policy?
insure4sport is underwritten by Sportscover, one of the world's leading specialist sports and leisure insurers. Sportscover has its own specialist Lloyd's of London insurance syndicate, Sportscover Syndicate 3334 SCS. That means that you have first class security when you purchase an insure4sport policy.

What if my circumstances change?
You must notify us as soon as possible of any change in circumstance that may affect your insurance. Simply call us on 0800 158 5530 or write to Customer Services Department, insure4sport, The Royals, Altrincham Road, Manchester, M22 4BJ.
If you fail to notify us of any changes in circumstances that then give rise to a claim it could invalidate your insurance.

What if I change my mind?
We offer a complete peace of mind money back guarantee. If you change your mind within 14 days of taking out the policy we’ll refund your premium in full.

I’ve just taken out an insure4sport policy and have found the exact cover cheaper elsewhere, what can I do?
We are so sure that this will not happen we offer a lowest price guarantee for policies purchased within a 30 day period. Show us that you can obtain the exact same levels of insurance for less and we’ll refund you the difference.

Do you offer credit facilities?
Yes, if your policy comes to over £400 you can select to pay in one go or you can elect to pay by four equal monthly instalments.

No, we can only cover UK residents.

What is Sports Liability?
Sports Liability includes Public Liability and Professional Indemnity. Public Liability Insurance provides cover for claims made against you in respect of your legal liability to pay for personal injury and/or damage to premises you lease or rent. Professional Indemnity will provide cover for claims made against you arising from your legal liability for errors or mistakes in the advice or services you may provide or offer.

Is sports equipment replaced on a new for old basis?
Yes for items purchased which are less than a year old subject to satisfactory proof of ownership. Items older than one year will be replaced on the indemnity value of that equipment at the time of loss or damage.

Coaches/Instructors
I’m not a professional coach, I just do it in my spare time, do I still need insurance?
Regardless of your professional standing, it is an unfortunate fact of life that accidents happen. And in some cases the injured party may wish to pursue a claim for compensation. Although you may not be specifically at fault you could be liable to pay costly legal fees and damages. In fact you may find that some organisations (schools and colleges particularly) insist that you have relevant qualifications, security checks and insurance cover before being allowed to coach.

What sports do you cover?
We have worked hard to ensure that the most popular participation sports in the UK are covered under our scheme. All the popular sports are included such as Football, Athletics, Cricket, Swimming, Gymnastics and Aerobics alongside some that you may not be so familiar with like Korfball, T-ball and Camogie. We can provide specialist cover for coaches and instructors in over 100 different types of sports, to see a full list click here.

I coach multiple sports will you still cover me?
Absolutely, we categorise our sports dependent on risk (A-D) and you will be insured for all sports within that category and the lesser risk categories. For example: a coach with a category C sport can also coach sports within categories A & B – as long as they have the relevant qualification to coach that sport.

Are there any age restrictions?
No, as long as you have the relevant qualification we can insure you. There is also no age restriction on the people who you will be coaching/instructing.

Yes, if your home has passed the relevant health and safety checks.

I sometimes coach overseas, can I include this?
Yes. We have four different territories you can choose from and unlike some other insurance policies we can cover USA and Canada.

You need to enter the maximum number of sessions you could take.

I am newly qualified, will this affect my premium?
No, as long as you hold a qualification recognised by the UK National Governing Body for the Sport coached or instructed as selected on your application.

I don’t hold the recognised qualification, is there any way I can benefit from insurance cover?
Under certain circumstances we can offer you insurance. If a ‘self certification’ only qualification is held, then coaching or instruction may be given but only whilst supervised by a fully qualified coach as above.

I would like to insure more than one person on the policy, is this possible?
Yes, insure4sport specialist sports insurance policies are designed to offer you a more personalised insurance service. You can add up to 12 coaches / trainers to your policy online. If you need to add more than 12 please call us on 0800 158 5530.

What is the coaches to participant ratio?
If the ratio is 1:6 there must be 1 coach for every 6 participants. If there are 7 participants the coach must have another person present to help out with the session. They do not need to be a coach but they must be responsible to the coach.

How much public liability insurance do I need to take out?
It depends where you need it for, some venue’s will insist on an ‘at least’ value.

I coach my local Sunday team and they have a team’s policy with Insure4Sport, do I need to take out a coaches policy as well?
You will only need to take out an additional policy if you coach another team who do not have you insured.

No, you do not need to declare this when taking out a policy.
